Many families have discovered that starting with an independent consultant in high school enabled their child to be not only successful but motivated and engaged in the college admissions process. I am committed to helping students figure out what kind of future they would like to build for themselves.
Applying to college is complex, competitive and time consuming. I can offer great mechanical support on applications, essays, etc. But more importantly, I can help students to work through their emotions and offer encouragement during this sometimes challenging process.
I work with students from start to finish through high school planning, navigating testing options, the admissions timeline, creating school lists, preparing for interviews, writing essays, and submitting final applications, as well as, decisions about deferrals and wait lists.
I am a highly experienced school counselor. For years, I have made visits to a wide variety of colleges and universities. I am also a practiced listener and problem solver. I assist students to discover and hone in on their strengths and unique qualities in order to create powerful and meaningful applications.
College is expensive and families are concerned about student loan debt. I can speak with families about cost saving ideas and financial aid/scholarship opportunities. I understand that every student and their family must create a personal plan that is financially compatible for them.
I work like a private school counselor by providing individual attention and encouragement. My flexible schedule allows me to meet for personal appointments at almost any time of the day, including after school, in the evenings, on weekends, and during the summer.
